MemoryPress Lo Máximo!
Below are our first attempts at creating visual tutorials. We will be posting them inside the help soon. Sorry about the low resolution, that is what we get when we use YouTube. But I am even more sorry that you have to listen to my voice in all but one of these. Next time I will try to add some more variety to them
Tutorial 1 - Edit Table of Contents
Tutorial 2 - Add a Memory
Tutorial 3 - Add a Photo
Tutorial 4 - Add a Photo Page
Tutorial 5 - Choose Your Cover
Tutorial 6 - Change Layout
In the next weeks, as we add features and make changes, we will be redoing these tutorials. But for now let us know what you think.

Table of contents video:
When you put something in trash, say specifically “it will be highlighted in yellow.”
Add a photo video:
When you drop the photo in, say specifically that it has to be placed in the red highlighted box.
Neal, that was great hearing you and your son do the cover!

Thanks so much for the comments. We will try to do that in the next recordings! Keep them coming.

Thanks Sally. It was fun to do.
Jeff, it would be helpful…next time, to explain why we choose the “Retypeset” option. Folks will want to know how they can add multiple photos, change captions and move them all around and then click “Retypeset.” It saves them time as they get into the system.

Hi folks,
I feel really frustrated, AND I also know you all are working overtime on fixing all the bugs.
On the home page you talk about editors, contributors, and chief editors with the Invite System.
However, with the current invite system, there is no way to set who is to be an editor.
If you have instructions about something you can do, people have to be able to do it!
If someone comes to the site and tries to use the invite system, they can’t designate anyone as an editor, they can’t manage their invitees, and when you invite someone, it doesn’t even show up in the list so you don’t know who you’ve invited! At least that’s the case in my books. This has got to get fixed ASAP so people don’t think Family Learn is some flaky organization who says something and then doesn’t follow through.
My comments are always geared towards making sure my clients find this site completely user friendly, or they will not use it. BTW, If these comment should go somewhere else on this blog, please copy it there!
TYPO: Regular postal service (snail mail) - “For those who use email (or that you don’t have an email address for) and don’t use computers.”
This should say: For those who DON’T use e-mail…
I’m so glad the home page video is changed!
Regarding the link to “Demo MemoryPress”:
The videos are great for the HELP section. However, if someone wants to see what the program is like, what the features are, and what it does, then they won’t sit through three or four videos. I think the “Demo” should be short, CLEAR, instructions about the different features, possibly using screen shots to show what it looks like, and make sure there is an emphasis on what the finished product is.
I agree with Max who said there is too much obsession with the technical parts of the books, binding, typesetting, etc. on the home page, and not enough about the warm, inviting, attractive, and EASY features of why you created MemoryPress in the first place!
Please know that all my comments are meant to be supportive, because I want this to be the best site around!
Thanks-
Sally

Hi Sally
What good feedback. You’re right on every account.
We need to reimplement “Editors,” “Contributors,” and “Viewers” asap. Until we do, send the email and the book id of any invitee and we can make the change in the background (it all still works in the background).
Thanks for pointing out the typo. It’ll be fixed right away.
Great feedback on the DEMO. We couldn’t agree with you more. We’ll need to put together a one movie demo.
We just made some changes on the right to focus more on “How it works” (the warm, fuzzy stuff) and the Demo, leaving the fine details further down the menu.
Sally, we know you mean well in all you say. Thank you!
